We are busy planning an exciting party for Monday, May 15, 2023—New York Festival of Song’s Spring Gala. Along with co-chairs Jamie Bernstein, William & Lucy Friedman, and Alexandra & Philip Howard, I am very much hoping that you can be with us that night. The event will take place at the Racquet & Tennis Club on Park Avenue, an elegant New York institution with roots reaching back to the Gilded Age.
This year’s program, Feelin’ Groovy: Songs from the 60s, will feature songs by Laura Nyro, Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell and the Beatles, along with some Motown hits and—who knows?—maybe even a tune from Hair.
Our superlative cast of performers includes the Broadway sensation Julie Benko (currently starring in Funny Girl) and her husband, the brilliant jazz pianist Jason Yeager; two powerhouse balladeers, tenors Joshua Blue and Daniel McGrew; and NYFOS’s dear friend Lucia Bradford, a one-woman Supremes. We promise you an unforgettable night out! — Steven Blier
