Spring Gala

30!
This gala evening in support of NYFOS’s 2017-18 season will feature songs from Tony- and Emmy-winner Tyne Daly, as well as showstoppers from powerhouse Broadway singer-actress Mary Testa, and the talented young baritone Theo Hoffman. Joining these NYFOS favorites will be the dazzling, multifaceted Gabriel Ebert, who won a Tony Award for his role in Matilda. And we’ll welcome rising star Mikaela Bennett who emerged from the ranks of our Emerging Artist program to take Broadway by storm last season in The Golden Apple. In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we’ll choose material based around that round number, including hit songs from 1930 (“Let Me Sing and I’m Happy” and music from Gershwin’s Girl Crazy), tunes by Stephen Sondheim (born in 1930), songs that premiered thirty years ago (numbers from Lucky Stiff), and songs that are sure to be classics in 30 years (stay tuned).
