Mary Testa’s Broadway credits include the current, critically-acclaimed
Zanadu, Chicago, 42nd Street (Tony nomination), Marie Christine (cast
album), On the Town (Tony nomination), A Funny Thing Happened on the
Way to the Forum (cast album), The Rink, Marilyn, and Barnum. She has
also appeared in the Encores! series in The Ziegfeld Follies of 1936,
for which she recorded the cast album. Off-Broadway, Ms. Testa’s
engagements have included roles in Regrets Only, See What I Wanna See
(Drama Desk nomination, Drama League nomination, and cast album), First
Lady Suite (Drama Desk nomination), String of Pearls (Drama Desk nomination),
The Vagina Monologues, The Wax, From Above (Obie Award), Lucky Stiff,
The Knife, A New Brain (cast album), Tartuffe, On the Town (Obie Award),
Scapin, In Trousers (cast album), and Daughters.
Ms. Testa also enjoys a career in film, where she has been seen in Stay, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding, The Business of Strangers, The Out-of-Towners, Sleepers, Queens of the Big Time, Two Bits, Mac, Stanley and Iris, and Going in Style. On television, she has been featured in shows such as Waterfront, Whoopi, Cosby, Sex and the City, Linc’s, Witness to the Mob, Law and Order, City Kids, and numerous others. She last sang with the New York Festival of Song in Hands Across the Sea (2005) and We Open in Paris, the final concert of the 2006-2007 season.
